Garden Park Medical Center’s administrative team is pleased to announce the new Chief of Staff, Dr. Joseph L. Cottone, Jr. Dr. Cottone is a Board Certified urologist who has been practicing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 2001. Dr. Cottone studied Biochemistry at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans in 1994. He completed a two year surgical residency and three year urologic residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he served as a Chief Resident. After residency, he practiced with The Urology Center in Slidell, Louisiana for two years before making his home on the coast in South Mississippi. He has been an active member of the Garden Park Medical Staff since 2001 where he has served as Chief of Surgery and Vice Chief of Staff.
Dr. Lance Johansen previously served as Chief of Staff from 2011 – 2015 and helped develop processes and best practices that are firmly in place, leaving a legacy that will allow us to continue to provide quality care to our patients while working efficiently behind the scenes.
