On July 13th, 2011 Garden Park Medical Center was recognized by the State of MS Information Quality Healthcare organization for excellence in quality patient care.  Garden Park has consistently achieved 100% in patient quality of care indicators- CORE measures for going on 7 consecutive quarters.  Core measures are identified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and were carefully researched and have been scientifically shown to improve outcomes of patient care.  The measures were created for patients to ensure that they receive the best health care available. The core measures include steps we take to prevent or treat acute myocardial infarction, heart failure and pneumonia as well as follow the guidelines of the surgical care improvement project.

Additionally, Garden Park was recognized for their excellence in quality for achieving 100% 7 consecutive quarters on SCIP measures.  SCIP (Surgical Care Improvement Project)is  a national quality partnership of organizations interested in improving surgical care by significantly reducing surgical complications.  
Garden Park Medical Center is the only hospital in the state of MS to achieve this for over 7 quarters and only 1 of 3 that is consistently achieving 100% in these areas of quality patient care.

Information & Quality Healthcare (IQH), a not-for-profit corporation chartered in 1971 in Mississippi, serves as the federally designated Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the state. IQH works under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to improve the quality of health care for Medicare beneficiaries.
