I have struggled with my weight my whole life. My family has a history of high blood pressure and diabetes and I knew eventually I would be a statistic of these diseases if I didn’t lose weight. My biggest motivator to lose the weight was my children. I had dieted on and off my whole life. At one point I had even lost 70 pounds, but not only did I gain that weight back but added about 20 additional pounds. I knew when I hit nearly 260 pounds and a size 24/26 that I had to do something or I wouldn’t live to see my children grow up. After much research, and talking to Dr. Balder, a bariatric surgeon, I made the best decision of my life in October of 2014. I had the gastric sleeve surgery. 90% of my stomach was removed. I lost a total of 140 pounds and I am now in a size 2/4. I have never felt better in my life! I can run and/or walk with my children and not feel like I’m going to pass out at any given moment. I used to hate to shop for clothes, but now it’s so much fun just to go and buy clothes off of any rack at any store! People ask me all of the time if I had to make the decision to do this surgery again would I choose to do so? My answer…100% Absolutely Yes!
